From 2003 to 2005, the electronic dance-pop project Pulse State was in a stage of great creativity. The project, manned in the studio solely by Detroit area resident Mike Phipps, produced no less than 14 remixes for many artists including Sero.Overdose, Ayria and Electrophile, as well as several songs of its own, before being laid dormant for several reasons. Recently, however, Pulse State has been reactivated with a bang! Producing its first remix in over two years, as well as having new songs and ideas in the works once again, the project has experienced a renaissance of sorts.
It is now time to clean the slate and start fresh. With a Single Step catalogs the best of Pulse State's output from 2003 to 2005. Nine tracks were selected from this period and updated to bring them up to contemporary standards, with several of them having been reworked to various degrees as was seen fit. Compilation only tracks such as "Innocence" or "Escaping the Unknown" are now available in their final album versions, and "Guardian Angel" from the 2003 Internet demo Shimmering and Falling has been extensively overhauled into an epic trance-pop smasher. The album is being offered at no charge as a way of saying "thank you" to the fans who have patiently waited for so long.
